Center for Visual Artists Announces 100×100 One-Night Art Exhibit and Sale June 1
Greensboro, NC – The Center for Visual Artists (CVA) will hold its annual 100×100 art exhibit and sale on Friday, June 1, from 6-9 p.m. The CVA is located at 200 N. Davie St., in downtown Greensboro
100 Artworks by Local Artists, All $100 Each at the Center for Visual Artists
This exhibit, which is a community event and fundraiser for the CVA, brings in artists and art lovers from across the Piedmont Triad to exhibit and enjoy artwork in a variety of styles at an affordable price. This year’s artists include Sam Wade, Angela L Gunter, YoungDoo M. Carey, Cassandra Liuzzo, Molly O’Keefe, Erik Strom, Charlotte Strom, Hilary Clement, Janie Ledford, Angie Rose and many others.
100 x 100 was originally the brainchild of former CVA gallery manager Kristy Thomas, and it’s grown to become a highly anticipated event in Greensboro’s art community. Artists are each given 10×10-inch canvases to create their artwork on, whether they are painters, print makers, photographers, or sculptors.
According to the CVA’s Outreach and Artistic Engagement Coordinator Devon McKnight, “So many artists have told us that being forced to use a 10×10-inch canvas gave them the impetus to work through and develop new ideas. Some artists who don’t paint or draw have been really creative in their approach to working on canvas!”
The 100×100 exhibit will be open ONLY from 6 – 9 p.m., on Friday, June 1 (First Friday). All art will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and will be taken down at the end of the night.
