City of High Point – WATER MAIN BREAKS AND POTHOLE NOTIFICATIONS
HIGH POINT, N.C. (January 11, 2018) – After winter weather events like the severely cold temperatures recently experienced by the Triad area, it is common for residents to notice potholes or other damage to the roads. Also, very cold temperatures followed by warmer ones is one of the primary contributors to underground water main breaks. Main breaks reduce water pressure significantly and make water temporarily unavailable for users during repairs.
When main breaks occur, the City of High Point posts alerts primarily through its social media platforms, and through the website notification alerts if necessary. Residents can follow the City on Twitter at @cityofhighpoint and via Facebook at www.facebook.com/cityofhighpoint, and can sign up for notification alerts through the Notify Me section on the City’s website at www.highpointnc.gov.
Please be aware of these issues as winter weather continues. High Point residents are encouraged to call the City at 336.883.3111 to report potholes and unknown water leaks. Callers will need to provide an address when reporting these issues.
The City of High Point aims to serve as the catalyst for bringing together the community’s human, economic and civic resources for the purpose of creating the single most livable, safe and prosperous community in America. For more information on the City, visit www.highpointnc.gov.
