On March 24, 2018 The Code Gallery presents an evening of adventurous music featuring Eugene Chadbourne and Rob McGill (traveling in from Ojai, California) starting at 8pm until 10pm at the Code Gallery, 1202 Grove St.. in the Glenwood neighborhood of Greensboro. In a career spanning 40 years Eugene Chadbourne has fronted the trio Shockabilly and performed, recorded or collaborated with John Zorn, Anthony Braxton, Aki Takase, Jimmy Carl Black of the Mothers of Invention, Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys, The Violent Femmes, Camper Van Beethoven and many, many more. He is the author of a guitar style that defies description. His music blends free improvisation, country, bluegrass and pop music.
Rob Magill is a Southern California based composer/improviser/multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter. Rob has worked with Shaine Scarminach and Walker Delbo of Fell to Low, Eugene Chadbourne, Dave Rempis, Tatsuya Nakatani, Fred Lomberg-Holm and Marshall Trammell of Black Spirituals. On his own Weird Cry label, Rob has over 40 solo albums and in 2016 released his “The Owl and the Pussycat” on Drag City Records.
