Greensboro, N.C. – March 19, 2019 – After five months of construction, the Courtyard by Marriott Greensboro on Wendover Avenue is set to complete its nearly $5 million renovation early next month. From façade to fitness room, the hotel is being fully redesigned to feature a welcoming exterior and entrance, an innovative lobby space, and Courtyard’s latest contemporary room design concept.
The Top-to-Bottom Renovation Launches the New Generation of the Courtyard Brand
The Greensboro property is one of the first among the more than 430 hotels that will experience a total renovation by 2024. From more spacious layouts to completely redesigned guest rooms, the reimagined hotel provides flexibility and choices that allow guests to optimize and elevate their travel experience.

The new room design offers key features that allow guests to go from work to play, including a light desk on wheels that can be easily moved around the room and brand new “LoungeAround” sofas that offer a comfortable area for relaxing. An enhanced bathroom experience with floor-to-ceiling showers and a convenient “Shower Nook” for toiletries and towels makes amenities accessible without having to leave the shower.
Additionally, all guest rooms are now equipped with electronic locks that allow guests to gain entry via a digital room key – an exclusive and secure technological advancement that cannot be found at any other hotel in Greensboro. This feature is available via Marriott’s Mobile App, which gives guests access to an abundance of other interactive technology features including mobile check-in and the ability to send a request for services and amenities.
The new lobby and new outdoor living area have been redesigned to give guests an open and modern environment outside of their rooms. The lobby serves as the hotel’s epicenter where guests can enjoy flexible seating options with built-in charging stations, private workspaces and a modern gas fireplace. The outdoor space is designed for socializing, with cozy seating and new fire pit. The property’s Bistro and dining area has also increased in size and offers guests an elevated dining experience.

The renovations began in November 2018, with Beacon Bay Project Management spearheading the project with help from Baskervill Architects. General contractors Philmac, Inc. and Hoegger and Associates were also key partners in bringing the project to completion.
