Day in the Park Artist Highlight: Kinobe
Day in the Park is less than two weeks away! One of the performing artists that the High Point Arts Council is excited to welcome to City Lake Park this year is talented multi-instrumentalist Kinobe (pronounced chi-no-bay) all the way from Uganda. Kinobe will be performing on this year’s Field Stage between 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
For the past fifteen years, Kinobe has been captivating audiences with his African music that blends world dance melodies with a wide variety of traditional African instruments. In addition to creating his own unique sound, Kinobe is also known for his roles as a creative arts producer, speaker, and facilitator. When Kinobe is not on stage mesmerizing audience members with his African harp or Kalimba, he is often times found in the classroom educating and giving talks to students of all ages.
In addition to this year’s three stages of live music, Day in the Park is set to feature over thirty local artist and craft vendors, food trucks, art activities, and folklife exhibitors. Day in the Park will take place on Saturday, September 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at High Point City Lake Park. Admission to Day in the Park is free and open to all ages.
