DiG to issue re-imagined “Imagine” on Friday April 13, 2018
Friday, April 13, 2018 Rocksteady Records: Elvis Presley was once asked his opinion about the negative events filling the world he lived in, to which he responded, “I’m not involved in that at all, I’m just an entertainer.” DiG, the on-going collaborative project between Minneapolis,Minnesota based Flipp front man/guitarist Brynn Arens and Winston-Salem North Carolina singer/songwriter Clay Howard, has long subscribed to this same philosophy, allowing their music to be their only public face.
As in times past, America is once more filled with heated political discussions, fighting and seemingly constant negativity. In response to this, DiG is choosing to allow music to be their public response. This response is given through their new recording of John Lennon’s classic 1971 plea for peace, “Imagine.”
“We both have kids of school age, and after watching these kids stand up publicly for deeply felt beliefs, we decided to respond the only way we know how- with a song,” says Clay Howard. “Imagine’ says it all so well, so we just decided to give it that DiG feel. We hope that the song is entertaining, and that the meaning continues to reach people, as it has since it was originally written and released.”
“Imagine” will be available at as a digital single, exclusively from the Rocksteady Records Bandcamp Store beginning on Friday, April 13, 2018. https://rocksteadyrecords.bandcamp.com/
DiG has released two previous singles, “Don’t Surrender,” and “Never Fall in Love Again.” You can find them both via the Rocksteady Records Bandcamp Store.
