Eastern Music Festival Encircling the City Continues Through July 24
Eastern Music Festival ’s Encircling the City, an educational performance and service-learning project between EMF and the Greensboro Public Libraries, kicked off this morning and will continue through July 24.
Developed by Dr. Diane Phoenix-Neal, EMF Faculty and former EMF Board member, Encircling the City is now in its sixth year.
Hailed as a successful program by the library and the families they serve, EMF Encircling the City and the EMF Orchestral Fellows engage children and invite their imagination and desire to learn – a shared mission with the Public Library’s Summer Reading Program. Each summer during the Festival, EMF Orchestral Fellow quartets travel to branches of the library to offer short programs of major works from classical literature highlighting living composers.
