Five Finger Death Punch w/ Three Days Grace, Bad Wolves, and Fire From the Gods @ Greensboro Coliseum – Photos by UnHinged Creative Studio – 11.22.19
Any concert that I attend, I make sure I find the event page on Facebook. When I saw the post warning people to come extra early just to park due to ‘strong ticket sales’, I knew I’d be in for a treat. On stage that night was Fire From the Gods, Bad Wolves, Three Days Grace, and the headliner Five Finger Death Punch. FIVE. FINGER. DEATH. PUNCH. These guys have been around from the early days of my head banging and mosh pits! They are a staple of the metal community and I was walking with extra pep in my step as I walked through the parking lot to find my spot at the stage.
The Greensboro Coliseum has had some epic performances over the years and I have never been disappointed with their ability to handle even the biggest crowds flawlessly. Not only are they professional, but these folks are downright friendly and welcome the photographers as if they’ve known you for years.
The crowd was AMAZING! Rock fingers were slamming in the air, crowd surfers coasted by constantly, and I’m pretty sure there weren’t any major injuries from the mosh pit. The best thing was, there seemed to be a lot of younger kids present. Metal isn’t dead yet!
The energy was tangible and everyone was pumped! When Bad Wolves took the stage, I was a little surprised to find the lead singer, Tommy Vext, in an arm sling. Dude didn’t let it mess with his show! Tommy was jumping around the stage with more energy than my four year old just before bed time. I almost dropped my camera with excitement when they played one of my favorite covers EVER! Zombie – Originally performed by The Cranberries. Haven’t heard it? Get on YouTube. Dolores O’Riordan was scheduled to meet Bad Wolves in the studio to add vocals to their cover…but was found dead that morning. Talk about CHILLS!
The crowd EXPLODED when Five Finger Death Punch came out and the guys absolutely ROCKED the stage. The bass vibrated in your chest and the music tingled your flesh with the intensity of their set. The best part was, you could tell they were having an absolute blast. I was still so amped up when I got home I couldn’t even go to bed for a couple of hours. Long story short, if you missed the tour this go ’round… you owe it to yourself to catch it next time.
