Fun family-friendly UNITE event in Downtown Greensboro May 5
Downtown Greensboro, Greensboro Parks and Recreation, Greensboro Downtown Parks, Inc. and the Family Support Network of Central Carolina will host their family-friendly UNITE event, Sun., May 5 in Downtown Greensboro.
U.N.I.T.E. (‘Understanding the Needs of Inclusion Takes Everyone’) is an annual event meant to ‘unite’ organizations from across Guilford County (and beyond) to celebrate the inclusion of people with special needs, as well as showcase the many services provided by local nonprofits and the City of Greensboro serving individuals with special needs and their families.
UNITE is co-hosted by Downtown Greensboro Inc., Greensboro Parks and Recreation, Greensboro Downtown Parks, Inc. and the Family Support Network of Central Carolina. This year’s event will be held on Sun., May 5th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at LeBauer Park. This event is FREE and open to the public.
This year, there will be a variety of family-friendly activities including a fire truck, therapy dog, drum circle, arts and crafts, games, dance performances, face painting, a group yoga session, a wonderful DJ, Kona Ice Truck…and more!
“The Family Support Network of Central Carolina is always thrilled to join forces with other nonprofits to meet the needs of our community and educate the public about the importance of inclusion. This event truly is for everyone and it really highlights and celebrates the many services offered to families of children with special needs. We have a great lineup again this year and are thrilled to be back at LeBauer Park… it’s the perfect spot for this event!” says Katy Biagini, who is on staff with FSNCC and on the UNITE 2019 planning committee.
