Greensboro Day School Engages Students in Service of Homelessness; Assembling 1,100 Toiletry Kits
Greensboro, NC – On Thurs., Jan. 9 Greensboro Day School Upper School students (ages 14-18) came together to serve the community during their school day. The Volunteer Center, as part of their Corporate Caring program, facilitated a portion of GDS’ service day for close to 75 upper-school students.
Students, along with their advisers, gathered to pack toiletry kits that will be distributed to individuals facing homelessness served by the Interactive Resource Center and The Servant Center.
In total, 1,100 toiletry kits were completed by Greensboro Day School students.
The Interactive Resource Center benefitted from the project, and a representative was on hand to educate employees about the work of the IRC and how the toiletry kits will be used throughout their work in the community.
The mission of The Volunteer Center is to strengthen our community by creating meaningful volunteer connections. We connect people, promote volunteerism, support nonprofits, and build partnerships. For more information about TVC, please visit www.volunteergso.org
