Greensboro Downtown Parks Announces Result of RFP Process
After a two-month bidding process, Greensboro Downtown Parks, Inc. is pleased to announce that Café Europa has been selected to continue operations in the Greensboro Cultural Center. An Request for Proposal process was initiated on January 9, 2018 to accept proposals for potential new restaurant operations in the Greensboro Cultural Building. The City of Greensboro requested GDPI’s use of this process which met all City contracting requirements, including appropriate advertisement and minority/women business outreach.
Café Europa Staying
Earlier this week, a selection committee, comprised of representatives from the City of Greensboro, GDPI, and the Cultural Center Advisory Council reviewed all submitted proposals. After a thorough review of each competitive submission, the committee was highly impressed with Café Europa’s proposal and were unanimous in its recommendation to award the bid to the restaurant. GDPI will now work with the ownership of Café Europa to execute a formal contractual agreement.
For over 18 years, Café Europa has been a stalwart of the downtown Greensboro restaurant community. Greensboro Downtown Parks looks forward to supporting this tradition while working to enhance the experience for visitors to LeBauer and Center City Parks, and the surrounding Cultural District.
