Greensboro Downtown Parks Director to Participate in Leadership Program in Central Park
GREENSBORO, NC – Rob Overman, Executive Director of Greensboro Downtown Parks, Inc. has been accepted into the Urban Park Executive Leadership Program in New York City. This immersive, week-long program is offered by the Central Park Conservancy in partnership with the City University of New York. The program aims to bring together park professionals from all over the country and provide participants with the skills and resources necessary to enhance their ability to successfully manage an urban park as part of a public-private park partnership.
As the Executive Director of GDPI, Overman is responsible for the management and operations of downtown Greensboro’s LeBauer and Center City Parks. Almost a full-year into his tenure, Overman is looking forward to an opportunity to learn from other urban park professionals. “This program will be a great opportunity to interact with other “It’s an amazing opportunity that will allow me to network and learn from other park professionals in this industry. The program will be held from March 19-23 and will include field work with the leadership team of the Central Park Conservancy, who have been managing New York’s Central Park since 1980 as part of a public-private partnership with the City of New York.
