Greensboro Downtown Parks, Inc. announces upcoming spring programs
GREENSBORO, NC-Spring has finally returned to Center City and LeBauer Parks in downtown Greensboro. After a cold and wet winter that seemed to never end the parks are blooming to life with an array of exciting programs and special events looming on the horizon.
On April 5, LeBauer Park will host its annual Spring Blooming Event from 5-9:30pm. An evening of games, music, food and crafts will be will culminate with a community countdown as Janet Echelman’s iconic sculpture-Where We Met-will be illuminated for the first time this year. The evening will be capped off when Marcus B. Smooth is welcomed to the stage to perform from 8:00-9:30pm.
Lunch-time crowd favorite, Tunes @ Noon presented by the Brooks Group, will amp up for its third year beginning on Wednesday, April 3rd in Downtown Greensboro Square. Tunes @ Noon provides lunchtime revelers a diverse array of music every Wednesday from 12:00-1:30pm. Sunday Jazz Picnics presented by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services return on April 7th while fan-favorite City Sunsets Concert Series sponsored by True Value Rentals will pick back up on April 27th.
A slew of fitness courses returns on April 2, starting with Zumba in the park. The first week of April will also include Zumba, Alloy Afterburn, Yoga and Pilates in the Park; providing wellness options for all skill-levels and abilities. For our younger park guests, Kids Klub returns with another season of diverse and engaging kids programming. Crafts & Conversation, Zumba Kids, and Art in the Park are just the tip of the iceberg as the parks will continue to host weekly children’s programming now through the end of summer.
On Friday afternoons, the fun will move across the street to Center City Park for Food Truck Fridays in partnership with SynerG, every Friday from 11-2pm with games on the lawn and different food trucks each week.
