The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market Hosts Annual Bacon, Lettuce, & Tomato Challenge & Tomato Celebration Day Saturday August 11, 2018, 9 am – noon
Greensboro, NC – The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market (GFM) will host its Annual BLT Challenge and Tomato Celebration Day on Saturday, August 11th from 9 am – noon on the lawn at the corner of Lindsay & Yanceyville St (501 Yanceyville Street).
Greensboro chefs, restaurants and food enthusiasts compete annually for best BLT at GFM. Melt Kitchen & Bar, winner of 2017, will challenge Reto’s Kitchen and a Greensboro Farmers Market team led by Chef Steve Terrill of Red Chair Dinners. These 3 teams will create their best BLT sandwich using tomatoes and lettuce grown by farmers in the market. Customers will have the opportunity to sample sandwiches from each team and vote for their favorite BLT.
BLT Challenge plates are available for a minimum donation of $6 per plate, while supplies last. Each plate will consist of a ¼ sandwich/slider size from each competitor with a side of Mt. Olive kosher dill spears, and a ballot to cast for the best BLT sandwich. Payment options include cash and credit.
