Guilford County Sheriff’s Office arrest Daniel Wayne Cook on outstanding warrants for misdemeanor larceny
Sheriff Danny Rogers reports that on Thursday, February 28, 2019, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office attempted the arrest of Daniel Wayne Cook (White Male, 42 years of age) on outstanding warrants for misdemeanor larceny.
Deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop on Cook, but he failed to heed lights and siren. A vehicle pursuit ensued on Yanceyville Road where Cook struck a passing motorist and intentionally struck a Sheriff’s Office vehicle multiple times.
Deputies utilized a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to disable Cook’s vehicle and were able to place him under arrest. Daniel Cook was charged with Felony Speed to Elude, multiple counts of Assault w/a Deadly Weapon, Resist/Delay & Obstruct, multiple counts of Simple Assault, and numerous traffic offenses.
Cook was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No other individuals were injured in the pursuit.
