Guilford County Sheriff’s Office Seize Over 5000 THC Oil Vape Cartridges
Sheriff Danny Rogers reports the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office seized over 5000 THC Oil vape cartridges. On Sept. 19, 2019 at approximately 5:00pm, Detectives from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office – Specialized Enforcement Team – Criminal Interdiction Unit were conducting interdiction activities in Guilford County which resulted in the seizure of five boxes containing a total of approximately 5058 THC Oil vape cartridges which were in transit to a residence in Richmond, Virginia. The approximate street value of this seizure is estimated at $250,000.00.
The “Cookies” brand vape cartridges each contain 1ml of 91% THC oil marketed as “Lemon Pound Cake” flavor which are designed to be placed into an e-cigarette or similar vaping device to achieve the desired effects. This illicit type of THC oil products has gained national attention in recent months due to the negative side effects and numerous deaths which have been attributed to vaping nationwide.
No arrests have been made at this time, but investigation is on-going.
