Guilford Green Foundation begins work on new LGBTQ Center
(GREENSBORO, N.C.) – Construction has begun on Guilford Green Foundation’s new LGBTQ Center. The new space, located at 121 N. Greene Street, is larger and more visible than the current LGBTQ Center space, and perhaps most important, it is accessible and located on the ground floor. However, there is a lot of work to be done to get the space renovated to meet the needs of the LGBTQ Center.
Plans include upfitting the 1,800-square foot location with a new kitchen, lighting, carpeting, and paint; purchasing new furniture and equipment for an event and gathering space for 50 people; and creating welcoming and collaborative spaces that feature a lounge, small group meeting room, and expanded resource library.
A capital campaign is underway to raise the $60,000 needed for the renovation. Donors who give $100 or more will have their name displayed on the donor wall that will be prominently displayed in the new space.
