JACKIE JOYNER-KERSEE TO SPEAK AT THE SALVATION ARMY OF HIGH POINT SECOND ANNUAL DARRELL & STELLA HARRIS CHAMPION OF HOPE DINNER
HIGH POINT, NC (April 3, 2018) – The Salvation Army of High Point is excited to announce Jackie Joyner-Kersee as the headlining speaker for the second annual Darrell and Stella Harris Champion of Hope dinner.
On Tuesday, May 15th, The Salvation Army of High Point will host its second annual Champion of Hope Dinner at The High Point Country Club at Emerywood. Beginning at 6:00 pm guests will be able to participate in the silent auction and a private reception will be held with Jackie Joyner-Kersee for those who purchase Meet & Greet tickets. At 7:00 pm a three-course dinner will be served and Ms. Joyner-Kersee will deliver the keynote address. The Salvation Army will also announce the 2018 Darrell and Stella Harris Champion of Hope Award recipient and recognize the local Volunteer of the Year.

Jackie Joyner-Kersee is a 6-time Olympic medalist, and one of the most decorated female athletes of all time. As the current world record holder in the heptathlon, and the American record holder in both the heptathlon and long jump, Jackie Joyner-Kersee excelled in the Olympic games and was named greatest female athlete of the 20th century, by Sports Illustrated for Women magazine. Today, she continues to give back to her community and pursues her philanthropic passion of promoting healthy lifestyles and youth development.
The Champion of Hope Dinner is currently open to corporate sponsorships, and individual ticket sales will be opened to the community in the following weeks.
