Keyshia Tamar Haithcock appointed Director of Development and Public Relations for Greensboro Symphony Orchestra
(GREENSBORO, NC)—The Greensboro Symphony Orchestra (GSO) announces the appointment of Keyshia Tamar Haithcock as Director of Development and Public Relations, effective Feb. 5. Haithcock comes to GSO from the United Way of Greater Greensboro, where she has served as Development Manager since 2017. She holds a BA in Music Performance from Bennett College and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Haithcock has been involved with GSO for years, serving on the Board of Directors of its thriving young professionals group, Vivace Young Professionals, since 2015, and acting as Chair of Vivace from 2017-2018. She also has served as a Board Member of the Piedmont Triad Blues Preservation Society, a Cabinet Member and Past Chair of United Way Young Leaders, a pianist and worship leader at Cathedral of His Glory in Greensboro, and an active member of the NC Triad Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
“My time volunteering with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra over the last four years through Vivace Young Professionals has been nothing short of delightful and rewarding,” said Haithcock. “I have met some of my closest friends through my involvement with the Symphony. Most importantly, through this young professionals group, I have been able to bring greater awareness to the incredible work of the GSO. I am thrilled to join the staff of this excellent organization and to dedicate my efforts to raising funds and growing funding opportunities!”
Haithcock replaces GSO Chief Operating Officer, Daniel M. Crupi, who will assume the role of Executive Director with the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus in Santa Fe, New Mexico this March.
“We are thrilled to welcome Keyshia to the Greensboro Symphony team,” said Lisa Crawford, GSO President & CEO. “We believe her enthusiasm and passion for music, coupled with her experience leading Vivace Young Professionals, will make her an extraordinarily effective ambassador for GSO. I know she will be a tremendous asset to the company,” she said.
