Letter to the editor: In support of Kathy Manning
By: Cathy Levinson
I write in support of Kathy Manning for Congress. I write because in the conversations that I have had, people are concerned about action and results—- not more talk.
We are used to politicians telling us what they will do. Anyone can tell a story. What I’m listening for is what these candidates have actually done.
We have heard Congress people in Washington, Raleigh, Richmond—wherever politicians gather—-who talk and criticize and complain. But they are not accomplishing anything for us.
I support Kathy Manning because she has a 30-year record of accomplishment for this community. I can see what kind of leader she will be because she has modeled that leadership for 30 years. She doesn’t tell me who she WILL speak for or what she WILL do, she rolls up her sleeves and digs in to tackle and solve problems.
Kathy understands the issues that face us from immigration to the cost of health care, from educating our children to caring for those most vulnerable in our neighborhoods. Kathy is practical and a smart decision maker. She has listened to citizen concerns, researched underlying causes, and then assembled problem solvers and experts to dig deep for compromise and solutions—to make our community better and stronger.
Thank you for stepping forward to confront Ted Budd, Kathy Manning. You take action to devise creative solutions to our community’s most difficult problems.
You don’t just talk. You walk the walk.
