Local Senior Living Community to Host Woodstock 50th Anniversary Event
(Greensboro, NC) – August 9, 2019 – It has been fifty years since Woodstock Music Festival captivated the world, and despite a recent announcement that the official 50th anniversary concert is cancelled, Greensboro-based Kisco Senior Living Community Heritage Greens has decided the show must go on.
Greensboro-Based Heritage Greens Plans Musical Soiree for Residents and Local Community Members
Beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 16th, Heritage Greens (801 Meadowood St., Greensboro) will welcome residents, their families, friends and local community members to its Musical Soiree: Woodstock Edition – an afternoon filled with food, beer, vendors and, most importantly, music. The event will feature popular tunes from the 60’s throughout the day and will culminate with a live performance from local musicians (and community favorite) The Rob Massengale Band starting at 6 p.m.
“We have seen first-hand over the years the joy and energy these types of celebrations have brought many of our residents, especially when based around a significant historical event that many of them remember or even attended” said Heritage Greens Executive Director, Jeramy Reid. “There’s no question that music has the ability to bring people together. This is why we are so dedicated and proud to host events such as the Woodstock Musical Soiree, as they not only allow us to support local businesses and bring together community members, but also serve as an enjoyable experience for our residents.”
The event will have a number of vendors and activities for all ages, including a costume contest where the best 60’s themed costume will win a special prize. Admission is free and open to all members of the public, and food and drink from local vendors including Bandito Burrito, Kona Ice and Pig Pounder Brewery will be available for purchase.
