N.C. A&T Online MBA Program Ranks Among Nation’s Best
EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (July 27, 2019) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s Online MBA Program is ranked among the best in the nation, according to the College Consensus 25 Best Value Online MBA Programs 2019.
North Carolina A&T State University also was ranked among the College Consensus 25 Most Affordable Online MBA Programs 2019.
North Carolina A&T offers its MBA program through the College of Business and Economics (COBE) in one of four business concentrations: accounting, human resource management, supply chain management and general MBA. The latter three are also offered via the university’s Online MBA Program. All courses are taught by extensively experienced, faculty and business executives who bring a wealth of current industry knowledge and expertise to students.
“Our MBA degree provides students with a thorough understanding of the basic business essentials with the goal of graduating students who are comfortable with technology and know how to make an impact, enable capabilities, and get business done efficiently using collaborative tools and platforms,” said Dr. Eric Gladney, COBE associate dean and MBA director. “These concentrations represent business areas that are growing in professional importance and business opportunities. Our MBA courses are designed to propel students into the future with the transferable skills and passion to excel in their careers.”
College Consensus compiles its annual rankings using three criteria: affordability, convenience and reputation.
For the Best Value category, the final rankings were determined by return on investment – an equation of graduate salary expectations and cost of tuition. N.C. A&T and North Carolina State University are the only two institutions in North Carolina represented in this year’s rankings. A&T also joins Howard University in Washington, D.C., as the only two historically black colleges and universities in the 2019 list, which includes Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, Auburn University, Florida State University and the University of Washington.
The Most Affordable category rankings were decided by cost of tuition from lowest to highest. North Carolina A&T, along with fellow minority serving institutions and UNC System universities Fayetteville State and UNC Pembroke are the three North Carolina universities named to this year’s list. North Carolina came in behind Texas and Arkansas with the largest number of universities in the 2019 rankings.
Both categories used data drawn from sources like U.S. News & World Report, The Economist, Businessweek and the institutions’ own published information.
“Every student will define value differently, but the old adage of ‘you get what you pay for’ can be very true,” College Consensus editors said. “With institutions competing for the best students, some excellent business schools across the nation are providing affordable online MBA programs at a fraction of the tuition cost you may expect. … Couple an incredible curriculum like the MBA with an online format, and you open the doors of possibility for many business leaders currently working in America’s workforce.”
Some ways to research prestige is by finding schools consistently featured in ranking systems, as well as identifying those carrying an elite business accreditation through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs or International Accreditation Council for Business Education.
COBE has been accredited by AACSB-International since 1979, when it became the first university in the Piedmont-Triad area to earn the prestigious AACSB International stamp of quality. Its Human Resource Management concentration is certified by the Society of Human Resources Management.
Earlier this year, Online MBA Today ranked N.C. A&T’s Online MBA Program as No. 1 in its Top 50 Best Value Online MBA Programs 2019.
