N.C. Folk Festival Announces New Program: Folk Fest Music Spots will feature local artists in downtown Greensboro spaces.
Greensboro, N.C., August 28, 2019 – Now celebrating its second year, the North Carolina Folk Festival will present Folk Fest Music Spots – a new program during this year’s Festival featuring eleven local bands in intimate spaces hosted by eight downtown Greensboro businesses.
The Folk Fest Music Spots program is produced in collaboration with Fiddle & Bow Society and with support from Downtown Greensboro, Inc. The performances will take place between 12:30pm and 5:30pm on both Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8.

This year’s Folk Fest Music Spots are accessible to festival-goers and will feature dedicated seating and listening space for enjoying local favorites from our community.” says Amy Grossmann, director of the NC Folk Festival.
Fiddle & Bow Society curated the program of local artists with the Festival and will produce the performances at all eight locations.

The local artists featured in this year’s Folk Fest Music Spots program include The Alley Rabbits, Cicada, Sam Frazier, Chris Frisina, Big Ron Hunter, Last Rays of Sunday, Minor Swing, Our Band, Sinai Mountain Ramblers, The Williamson Brothers, and The Zinc Kings.

Fiddle and Bow, founded in 1981, is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of folk music and dance and their related arts. We do this primarily through our concert series, presenting approximately two concerts per month on the first and third Fridays.
