N.C. Folk Festival Unveils 2018 Schedule + Footprint on New Interactive Mobile App
Greensboro, N.C., August 22, 2018 — North Carolina Folk Festival organizers today announced complete schedule for the 2018 North Carolina Folk Festival – a free admission, three-day weekend celebration of America’s roots & heritage in downtown Greensboro, Friday, Sept 7 to Sunday, Sept. 9.
The schedule is available on the N.C. Folk Fest website and the mobile app, which users can download from Google Play and iTunes. QR code to download mobile app included.
Volunteer shifts are available throughout the festival, Fri., Sept 7 to Sun., Sept. 9.
The N.C. Folk Fest mobile app turns a standard paper schedule into a living, breathing program you can update on the fly. Features of the mobile app:
My Schedule & Lineup
This feature houses a complete listing of events that will display alphabetically, chronologically and by location. Users can browse events and create a personalized schedule. Don’t miss a chance to snag a front row seat and schedule alerts for your favorite performers.
The N.C. Folk Fest mobile app fetches current forecast of Greensboro and displays daily temperatures.
App users will always be aware of how soon the event will begin. On the main menu, a countdown shows the precise time for the event start.
Using the map, attendees can see their own location and find their way to points of interest in the festival. It’s an easy-to-use, familiar interface, overlaying Google maps and Apple Maps.
Eat, Shop, Play (Points of Interest)
This section of the app displays points of interest such as Eat & Drink, Marketplace, Family Fun, Folklife and Attractions. Each of these Points of Interest also appear on the map with a pin.
News & Social
With the News and Social feature, attendees can find out about schedule updates and important announcements. The News tab also pulls official posts from our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
This feature provides information regarding Parking, Restrooms, Festival Hours, First Aid, ATMs, etc.
Also, the North Carolina Folk Festival needs additional volunteers, especially shifts on Saturday evening and Sunday, which tend to be harder to fill.
