THE 2018 NORTH CAROLINA FOLK FESTIVAL WELCOMES OUR STATE MAGAZINE AS SPONSOR OF THE NORTH CAROLINA MAKERS MARKETPLACE
Greensboro, N.C., — North Carolina Folk Festival organizers today announced that Our State Magazine will sponsor the North Carolina Makers Marketplace at the 2018 North Carolina Folk Festival, to be presented in downtown Greensboro the weekend of Sept. 7 – 9.
The North Carolina Makers Marketplace will feature the juried, handmade creations of the finest artists and craftspeople from the North Carolina region for Festival Weekend
Artists and craftspeople from more than thirty North Carolina towns and cities will showcase their work and products at the 2018 North Carolina Folk Festival — representing makers’ traditions from the Atlantic seaboard to the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Marketplace is one of the Festival’s top destinations for thousands of craft enthusiasts each year, and features a wide range of handmade creations of the finest artists and craftspeople from North Carolina and the region. It will include both traditional crafts and more contemporary artistic expressions established in the region’s experience. Pottery, custom furniture, photography, jewelry, textile arts, woodworks, paintings, musical instruments, sculptures, and much more will be showcased and available for purchase.
“As a prestigious celebration of our nation’s heritage and traditions, together with the rich and exciting culture of the State of North Carolina, the 2018 North Carolina Folk Festival allows North Carolina to showcase all that our state has to offer to audiences from across the Southeast,” said Bernie Mann, president and publisher of Our State Magazine.
“We are extremely grateful to Our State Magazine for helping the Festival reach so many North Carolina enthusiasts, both across the state and country,” said Amy Grossmann, Director of the Festival and Interim President and CEO of ArtsGreensboro. “Our State’s sponsorship of the N.C. Makers Marketplace will help us celebrate the remarkable work of hundreds of North Carolina artists – all part of the history, culture, and beauty of our state.”
Since 1933, Our State has been the trusted resource for all things North Carolina. From recipes to new places to visit, Our State has a variety of tremendous information. “We are lucky to live in and represent a state with so many phenomenal artisans. Our State is proud to be a sponsor of the N.C. Makers Marketplace at this year’s North Carolina Folk Festival,” Mann said.
The N.C. Makers Marketplace will be open throughout the festival weekend. Participating artists and craftspeople will be announced next week.
