Performers Sought for 3rd Ever Dunleath Porchfest!
The Historic Dunleath Neighborhood is seeking performers for its 3rd Ever Dunleath Porchfest scheduled for Saturday, June 8 from 12-5 pm. Solo or ensemble. Singing, playing, dancing, storytelling — the more genres the better.
At Porchfest, neighborhood porches are turned into performance venues and are paired with area performers who have offered to share their talents. Neighbors and attendees stroll from house to house to enjoy a variety of music and entertainment in a festival-like atmosphere throughout the afternoon. Depending on the types of performances, length of performances are between 15 and 45 minutes. In two years, Dunleath Porchfest has become recognized by many in Greensboro as a grassroots event that celebrates performing arts, a sense of community and good will, and local history. In 2017, Porchfest featured twenty-four performance ensembles, and grew to thirty-five performances last year.
This family-friendly event will also have food vendors, fun stuff for kids, and will culminate in a single performance at Sternberger Park to conclude the event. And to spread even more goodwill, we’ll collect canned goods for a local food pantry. Admission will be free and open to the public.
