FOOTHILLS BREWING AND RIVERRUN PRESENT: SUMMER SHORTS: AN EVENING OF FAMILY FUN AND FILM
(WINSTON-SALEM, NC) — Foothills Brewing and RiverRun International Film Festival present Summer Shorts: An Evening of Family Fun and Film Sat., July 28, at the Foothills Brewing Tasting Room located at 3800 Kimwell Drive in Winston-Salem. The evening features food trucks beginning at 5:30 p.m., live music featuring Aaron Burdett beginning at 6:30 p.m. and an outdoor screening of family-friendly North Carolina short films beginning at dark. The films include submissions to RiverRun from students at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. In the event of rain, activities will move indoors. Admission is free to the music and film screening; food and beverages will be available for purchase.
The family-friendly short films have been curated by RiverRun’s programming team and feature films from past RiverRun Festivals. “We receive short films of the highest caliber in our RiverRun submissions each year and are excited to partner with our friends at Foothills to share some of our favorite family-friendly North Carolina shorts with a summertime audience,” said Rob Davis, Executive Director of the RiverRun International Film Festival.

Founded in 1998, the RiverRun International Film Festival is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to the role of cinema as a conduit of powerful ideas and diverse viewpoints. Year-round programs include the Indie Lens Pop-Up Documentary Series, RiverRun Retro and Films With Class educational programs. Each spring, RiverRun’s Festival screens new narrative, documentary, short, student and animated films, offering both audience and jury prizes in competition categories. The 2019 RiverRun International Film Festival will take place April 4-14 with screenings in Winston-Salem and Greensboro.
