Tesla Selects High Point University Junior Christopher Schorn for Internship

HIGH POINT, N.C., July 13, 2018 – An internship with Tesla has put High Point University student Christopher Schorn on the fast track toward a future career.

The junior physics major from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, is in California this summer working for the company known for its electric vehicles.

Through Tesla’s internship and co-op program,Christopher Schorn works with the digital products team. He provides solutions to the customer service team and helps them develop processes for sharing feedback. This includes helping the team transition to sharing information through an online community so they can more effectively manage requests and communicate.

Christopher Schorn says the internship has been an invaluable experience that has complemented his classroom work and helped him strive toward his goals.

“At High Point University, I learned that having a growth mindset is important,” he says. “With this being my first internship, I was really nervous coming into such a large company. However, believing that I could grow into my role at Tesla calmed my nerves.”

He also says the Career and Professional Development team and other mentors at High Point University have helped him achieve this opportunity and the ability to be self-confident.

“Career and Professional Development provided me the necessary encouragement and feedback on my resumes and cover letters,” says Schorn. “They prepared me for my interview and taught me how to best market myself. I was still nervous but felt prepared by the wisdom they shared with me.”
