The Barnabas Network Hosts Wine-and-Cheese Volunteer Open House
Greensboro, N.C. –The Barnabas Network is pleased to host a drop-in open house for current and potential volunteers Tuesday, May 21, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at its headquarters, 838 Winston Street, Greensboro, NC 27405. Barnabas staff and longtime volunteers will offer tours of the warehouse and give insight into the organization’s mission to recycle furniture and restore lives. The event will feature wine, cheese, and light refreshments.
“From the very beginning our organization has been focused on neighbors helping neighbors, so we hope that this event provides an approachable opportunity for anyone interested in getting involved in our efforts,” says Barnabas Executive Director Derrick Sides. “Whether they are sorting houseware items, repairing furniture, assisting clients, or filing paperwork, our volunteers are a part of changing the world.”
Last year, The Barnabas Network served 2,099 individuals in 770 households. This translated to more than 8,000 pieces of furniture, including 1,067 beds, 443 of which went to school-age children.
