James Beard Award nominee and author of “Victuals”, Ronni Lundy, to sign books and speak with guests; Portion of cookbook sales will be donated to Earlier.org to fund breast cancer research
In celebration of the spring season, The Fresh Market will welcome cookbook author Ronni Lundy Sat., May 6 for a book signing event. Lundy is also an editor and founding member of the Southern Foodways Alliance. “Victuals,” her newest cookbook, was selected by Epicurious as a must-read for the summer and is now nominated for The James Beard Foundation Book Award.
From 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., The Fresh Market’s guests will have the chance to meet the James Beard Award nominee and purchase signed copies of “Victuals” — an exploration of the foodways, people and places of Appalachia. The book explores the surprisingly diverse history – and vibrant present – of food in the Mountain South through recipes, stories, traditions and innovations. A portion of the cookbook sales will be donated to Earlier.org, a local breast cancer charity focused exclusively on supporting research for new discoveries of an innovative biological test to detect breast cancer earlier.
