The Gifted Company debuts Sew & Reap Handcrafted, ‘Tiny Retail’ Trailer during First Friday

One-of-a-kind designs and a mission to restore lives are what make Sew & Reap Handcrafted products unique and purpose-driven.

Greensboro, N.C.- Chic, unique, well-made, and functional. These adjectives describe The Gifted Company’s new collection of fashion and home accessories. Under their Sew & Reap Handcrafted label, they’ve created one-of-a-kind market totes, clutch purses, makeup bags, decorative pillows, kitchen aprons, and more. Each piece is handcrafted with a folk, funky or sophisticated twist. The line also includes some straight-up cool clothing like surfer hoodies.

Merging a love for textiles with social commitment and environmental responsibility, Sew & Reap Handcrafted uses samples that would otherwise wind up in a landfill and donated fabric. And there is a critical mission: to provide job training for people whose circumstances, such as past or current homelessness, makes it difficult to attain traditional employment.

How does this work? Proceeds from Sew & Reap Handcrafted sales go into job programs to produce Sew & Reap Handcrafted products.

Already there is a success story. Of their first two trainees, one has been placed in a full-time industrial sewing job. The program began in January of this year.

Bringing new purpose to fabric and to people’s lives is what Sew & Reap Handcrafted is all about.

“When you buy from the Sew & Reap Handcrafted line, you get beautifully-made goods and you get to do something beautifully good,” said founder and product designer Sally Randall.

The Gifted Company will be in their recycled and reimagined “Tiny Retail” trailer during First Friday in downtown Greensboro on May 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. next door to 500 S. Elm St. Check some gifts off your Mother’s Day list, meet the founders, enjoy refreshments and take in the good vibes that Sew & Reap Handcrafted sows in your city.

As a part of their launch celebration, The Gifted Company will raffle a beautifully embroidered and beaded red tote with a couple of Sew & Reap Handcrafted surprises inside. And just for showing up, you will have a chance to win a Sew & Reap market bag. A donation of $10 or more will get you a first edition Sew & Reap Handcrafted
    T-shirt free!

Sew & Reap Handcrafted products are also available for purchase online at TheGiftedCo.com. To see the some of the most recent designs, visit their Facebook page: facebook.com/thegiftedco. On Facebook, you can also sign up for sewing classes.

The Gifted Company’s name is an acronym that stands for Giving Individuals Freedom Through Enterprise and Dignity.
