Memorial Day weekend concert series to feature Grammy Award winners, classic bands and rising stars
Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster or in person at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds and Annex ticket office. All concerts are general admission and will be held at Bailey Park in downtown Winston-Salem.
The festival will also include a community day on Monday, May 28, featuring popular local bands. Those shows are free and open to the public.
“Gears and Guitars offers a great opportunity for people to enjoy live music right in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem,” says Ray Boden, the festival’s executive director. “We’ve worked hard to put together a great lineup of nationally known artists and regional and local bands that will appeal to a wide range of music lovers. These daily performances are the best way to cap off the world-class cycling that will be on display through the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic.”
One of the country’s most prestigious cycling events, the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic will kick off Saturday, May 26, with both professional and amateur criterium races. A community ride is planned for Sunday, May 27. The weekend’s event will culminate on Monday, May 28, when more than 400 riders from international cycling teams compete in the professional road races.
All of the weekend’s cycling events are free and open to the public, although a registration fee does exist for competitors. Registration for riders will open in early March 2018.
