Triad-Based Piedmont Federal Savings Bank Opens new High Point Office: Ribbon Cutting Sept, 19
High Point, NC – September 19, 2019 – After more than 115 years of serving customers in Forsyth County, and Northwest North Carolina, Piedmont Federal Savings Bank took a step east today with the grand opening of its new office in High Point. “Over the years we were not overlooking High Point; we just felt the area was well served with local banks,” commented Mike Hauser, Piedmont Federal’s President. “Those banks are gone or have been bought by large regional or national institutions leaving an opportunity for Piedmont Federal to provide a truly local option to High Point area customers.”
The grand opening event will be one of the first that Piedmont Federal CEO David Barksdale attends. Barksdale, who joined the bank on Monday, grew up in Jamestown. “I am delighted to be a part of opening the new Palladium Branch; this is a vibrant growing community and we are excited to serve local residents and businesses,” said Barksdale.
The new branch is located at 3870 John Gordon Lane in the Palladium Shopping Center off of Eastchester Drive. The architect for the project was Peterson/Gordon Architects who also worked with Piedmont Federal on the construction of its home office on Stratford Road in Winston-Salem in 2012. “This is the right time to be in High Point as the City is poised for growth and we are thrilled to be a part of it”, remarked Ginger Salt, Piedmont Federal’s Senior Vice President – CMO.
Piedmont Federal reached out to one of High Point’s own, tapping Don Shaw to lead the High Point office and the bank’s introduction to the area. Shaw is a seasoned bank executive with all of his experience working in community banking in High Point. “I am really excited to see High Point getting a Triad bank and this chance to be involved is especially rewarding,” commented Shaw.
Fourth Elm Construction based in Kernersville served as the general contractor on the project. “Our focus has always been local and that includes working with local contractors when building and maintaining our offices,” explained Salt. “Continuing that focus with the High Point project was a great prelude to our offering financial services for High Point backed by a local bank.” A native of High Point, and a graduate of High Point Central High School, Salt has commented that the new office has been a gratifying experience.
Known for the highest levels of customer service, Piedmont Federal was voted Best Bank, Best Mortgage Company, and Best Place to Work in the Winston-Salem Journal Reader’s Choice Awards. “We were honored to win all three of these awards in the same year,” commented Hauser. “It shows the level of service that we are planning to bring to High Point with our new office.”
