    DJ Handle: DJ Mixstyles (formerly DJ skemes)

    What it means: I use many different styles in my mix

    Real name: shawn Michael Burnett

    What I play: Gospel, hip hop, R&B, Top 40, old school Got in the game: 2000

    Why I do it: The love of music and being in front of the crowd

    Influences: DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Jazzy Jeff, DJ ern, DJ Polo, DJ 2Nasty, Capital J

    First pro gig: l’s sports bar and lounge in 2000

    Studio work: Produce a number of tracks for a couple of local artists and currently working on my mixtape. Signature technique: DJ battling

    What you listen to outside of the club: Gospel and Christian hip hop

    Favorite albums: kidz in the Hall — The In Crowd, Hi-Tek — Hi-Teknology 1-3, Da Truth — Open Book, Pete Rock — NY’s Finest, J-Dilla — Dilla Loves Japan, kirk Franklin — Hero

    Equipment: Vestax PDX 2000 turntable, Numark scratch mixer, Tracktor Duo
