United Way of Forsyth County and Habitat for Humanity to Hold Dedication for two New Homes in the Bowen Park Neighborhood
Habitat for Humanity and United Way of Forsyth County will be dedicating two new houses on Ansonia Street simultaneously on Sun., Aug. 26 at 3:00 PM. These houses are located in the Bowen Park neighborhood which is in the Place Matters Footprint.
Place Matters is an United Way funded, resident-led initiative that targets investments where they’re needed most. The goal is to strengthen assets, lessen poverty, and create positive change that will endure.
The addresses of the two houses are 2816 and 2824 Ansonia Street and they are side by side. The two homeowners are currently neighbors and friends and will be able to enjoy being first time homeowners together as well.
Members from Rockwell Collins and United Way of Forsyth County volunteered over the summer, to build one of the two houses being dedicated.
United Way of Forsyth County Chief Impact Officer, Debbie Wilson notes, “We are so grateful to our partners at Habitat for Humanity and our Place Matters Initiative for collaborating to make the dream of home ownership a reality. This dedication is the final culmination of the whole homeownership process and every volunteer’s hard work and initiative. “
