Urban Grinders open in downtown Greensboro
A steady crowd of supporters and art lovers of all kinds drifted in and out of Urban Grinders for the Grand Opening on Saturday.Business partners Jeff Beck, Adrian Wilson and Marcus Moore made the rounds speaking with all the customers. The space is full of brilliant artists and conversations. Zac Trainor is the first artist to grace the walls of the upstairs art gallery. His work is eerie, stunning and straight out of the depths of an artist’s mind. For the first business quarter the art will be switching monthly, then after that every other month. Allotting the art its due time.Chella McLelland and Arthur Boudman work behind the bar serving up Krankies coffee. Other helpful hands on deck included Erin Hayes and Julie Welch. Local Triad artists Marshall Lakes, Kendal Doub and Beka Butts chat with friends and customers. Collaborative ideas flying. Sanders Davis kicked off the evening with his cool tunes. This is where artists reside, this is where street art will thrive and ideas will come together.Beck has put in long hours, sleepless nights and lots of decision making. You can tell this space coming into fruition is nothing other than his blood sweat and tears.
