Westerwood Neighborhood presents 10th Annual Art & Sole Walking Tour
Westerwood Art & Sole Walking Tour, a neighborhood art show and sale showcasing artists living in the Westerwood neighborhood, will take place Sat., Oct. 5, 2019 from 10am-5pm
Westerwood, sometimes called the Lake Daniel neighborhood, is located to the west of downtown between Benjamin Parkway to the north and Friendly Ave. to the south, and between Hillside Drive/Railway Spur line to the east and Westover Terrace to the west.
The intersections of Fairmont Street and North Mendenhall or East Lake Drive and Fairmont Street are great places to start the tour. Watch for the Art & Sole signs and balloons that mark participating studios; maps will be available at the artists’ studios.
Westerwood’s Art & Sole is celebrating its tenth installment this year. The event’s mantra is “Art You Can Walk To” and, with its concentration of artists, Westerwood continues to build on its reputation as a lively local art colony. The festival brings both art lovers and strollers to the historic neighborhood. The public can easily walk from place to place. The event takes place rain or shine.
Art & Sole will feature a myriad of artists at over a dozen different locations showing and selling art in a variety of styles. Painters, woodworkers, potters, sculptors, a fabric artist, and a photographer offer glimpses into their work processes and their ways of interpreting the world through art.
