Winston-Salem Fairgrounds to host Sinbad, kick off National Black Theatre Festival Weekend
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (May 31, 2017) — The Winston-Salem Fairgrounds will host Sinbad at the National Black Theatre Pre-Festival Comedy Kickoff on July 29 at 7 p.m., doors for the event will open at 6 p.m.
The Winston-Salem Fairgrounds is teaming up with The North Carolina Black Repertory Company to bring Sinbad as a kickoff event. The show will be held in the Annex Endstage at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds.
“The North Carolina Black Repertory Company is excited to partner with the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds in this prefestival comedy show to kick off the 2017 National Black Theatre Festival,” Nigel Alston executive director of the NCBRC, said.
This is the first of a collaborative effort between the two groups, Robert Mulhearn public assembly facilities manager for the city and fairgrounds, said.
“The City of Winston-Salem and Winston-Salem Fairgrounds is excited about the collaborative effort with the National Black Theatre Festival,” Mulhearn said. “We hope for its success, so that we may continue to support and supplement the festival with more great talent for years to come.”
The Winston-Salem Fairgrounds and Annex continue to keep community entertainment a priority. Travis Tritt most recently sold out the Annex Theatre and The Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels Band, the SmallTown Country Music Fest and much more are still to come this year.
Tickets for Sinbad will go on sale June 5 at 10 a.m. Ticket price ranges from $75 for the front five rows to $30 for all other seating.
